Mayvon D. McQuistan

Mayvon D. McQuistan, 82, of Pender, NE died on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at her home in Pender.  Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Pender, NE.  A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery of Pender.  Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home of Pender is in charge of the arrangements.

Mayvon was born on October 8, 1937 of a farm near Emerson, NE, the daughter of John and Virginia (Beargeon) Paulsen.  After graduating from high school, Mayvon attended college for three years.  For many years, Mayvon worked for Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services in Pender as a case manager.  Mayvon was a long-time member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Pender, where she served with the woman’s auxiliary. Mayvon was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her sons, Donald McQuistan of Pender, NE, Richard (Nancy) McQuistan of Vermillion, SD, Robert McQuistan of Thurston, NE, Mark McQuistan of Sugarland, TX; daughter, Luanne Divine of Lincoln, NE; sisters, Madeline Sunderman of Emerson, NE, Paulina Krusemark of Emerson, NE; nine grandchildren.

Mayvon was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia Paulsen; son, Edward “Eddie” L. McQuistan; brothers, Orville and Alvin Paulsen; and sister, Janice Fuscher.
