Patricia A. Knecht

Patricia A. Knecht, 82, of Winnebago, NE died on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender, NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson; Father Gerald Leise will be the celebrant. The visitation will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Emerson. The memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. Patricia was born on March 30, 1936, the only child to Ray and Alice (Liewer) McTaggart in Sioux City, IA. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Emerson in 1954. On October 15, 1955 she married Mort Henderson. The couple resided in Emerson where they operated Emerson Rendering Service until 1982. Patricia drove the school bus for Sacred Heart School for 13 years and later worked at the Wayne Care Center, Emerson Elementary School, and the Wakefield Care Center. Mort passed away on September 7, 1991. On October 7, 2006, she married Karyl Knecht in Walthill, NE. They made their home at the Knecht family farm near Winnebago, NE. Patricia enjoyed returning to the farm and continued to enjoyed gardening, quilting, and watching the Huskers, New York Yankees, and her hummingbird feeders. She also loved visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Karyl Knecht of Winnebago, NE; four daughters and five sons, Ellen Young of Pender, NE, Lori (Kelvin) Gutzmann of Emerson, NE, Linda (Monty) Johnson of Battle Creek, NE, Mary (John) Krueger of Kensington, KS, Perry (Deb) Henderson of Emerson, NE, Tom (Marcia) Henderson of Wakefield, NE, Patrick (Angel) Henderson of Wakefield, NE, Mort (Colleen) Henderson of Tampa, FL, and John Henderson of Ceresco, NE; step-daughter, Dorita Madsen of Omaha, NE; step-daughter-in-law, Conne Monk of Las Vegas, NV; 60 grandchildren and great-grandchildren which includes 9 step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, plus another great grandson due in October. She was preceded in death by her parents and first husband.
