Patricia M. Simonsen

Patricia "Patty" Marie (Novak) Simonsen, 69, of Pender, NE passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021, at Madonna Rehabilitation Campus in Omaha, NE.  The visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  The funeral service will be on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender.  Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Pender.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  

Patty was born on October 18, 1952, in Oakland, NE to Lester and Gladys (Holt) Novak.  She attended a country school east of Lyons, NE, and transferred to Lyons before graduating from Pender Public School in 1971. Patty went to college at UNL where she met Robert W. Simonsen.  On October 6, 1973, Patty married Robert at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. The couple moved to the North Family Place, where they started their family together. 

Patty worked at County Court House in the County Assessors Office until she retired.  She enjoyed reading and spending time in her gardens.  Most of all Patty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Patty is survived by her husband, Robert Simonsen of Pender; son, Marty Simonsen of Norfolk, NE; daughter, Kim (Terrie) Simonsen of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Landon Eastman, Jessie Walsh, and Austin Walsh; great-grandchildren, Lily Jepsen, and Maxwell Jepsen; sister, Judy Kubik; and brother, Raymond Novak.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Curt Novak; and sister-in-law, Carol Novak.
