Patrick Kelly Huggenberger, 68, of Emerson, NE, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, surrounded by his family at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.  A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE.  The memorial service for Pat will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church.  The burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson is assisting with the service.

Pat was born in Sioux City, IA, on March 17, 1956, the son of James and Patricia (Hedrick) Huggenberger.  He attended Emerson – Hubbard High School with the class of 1974.  Following school, Pat worked with the Farmers Union CO-OP, and with farmers in the area, before starting his trucking business.  He owned and operated his trucking business for over 40 years, until his retirement.  On June 13, 1975, he was married to Crystal Olson.  To this union, three children were born, Sarah, Amber, and Samuel.  They later divorced.  On May 26, 2007, Pat was united in marriage to Shellee (Nordhus) Fassler.  To this union brought two additional children, Jessina and Jon.  The couple enjoyed traveling, camping, and riding on Pat’s motorcycle.  He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church of which he served on church council several years.  He was a member of the first board for the Post 60 grocery store in Emerson.  Pat enjoyed socializing, driving his truck, motorcycle, traveling, hunting, but most of all he loved the time he spent with his many friends, family, and especially his grandchildren.

Pat is survived by his wife Shellee Huggenberger of Emerson, NE; daughters, Sarah (Tibor) Moldovan of Lincoln, NE, Amber Huggenberger of Omaha, NE, son, Samuel Huggenberger of Denton, TX; Jessina (Nick) Fuller of Sioux City, IA; father, James Huggenberger of Emerson, NE; brothers and sisters, Steve (Karen) Huggenberger of Springerville, AZ, Jaymi Kyte of Emerson, NE, Doug (Ginger) Huggenberger, of Emerson, NE, Chris (Dave) Mahler of Emerson, NE, Traci (Ron) Bodlak of Thurston, NE, Cindi Stolze of Emerson, NE, Joe (Shelli) Huggenberger of Basehor, KS, Terri Huggenberger of Overland Park, KS, Paul (Galy) Huggenberger of Dumas, TX, Toni (Dustin) Berrie of Olathe, KS; mother-in-law, Margaret Nordhus of Clark, SD; sisters-in-law, Pam (Barry) Yohnka of Peoria, AZ, Dana (Lori) Nordhus of Clark, SD; eleven grandchildren, Chase, Jack, Henry, Margo, Nora, Levi, Carter, Cameron, Brayden, Landon, and Gannon.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Huggenberger; step-mother, Bonnie Huggenberger; brother, Robert “Bob” Huggenberger; father-in-law, Donald Nordhus; and son, Jon Fassler.
