Sammy "Sonny" Edwin Kramer, 84, of Walthill, NE passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home in Walthill, NE.  Visitation will be on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.  Memorial services will be on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill, NE, with Reverend Brion Tolzman officiating.  Inurnment with military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE.  Lunch to follow at the Walthill Volunteer Fire Hall in Walthill, NE.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.   

Sonny was born on November 4, 1939, in Walthill, NE, the son of Sammy and Velma (Barker) Kramer.  He was united in marriage to Sharon K. Beaudette on January 9, 1960.   To this union, two sons, Troy and Mike were born. On December 11, 1961, Sonny entered the United States Army.  After his discharge in December of 1964, he worked in North Bend, NE, before moving back to Walthill.  He worked at Campbell Manufacturing.  In 1968, he began working with his dad.  For many years he dirt track raced, winning his last race at the age of 82.  For many years he owned a towing business in Walthill.   Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, racing cars, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sharon Kramer of Walthill, NE; sons, Troy (Tara) Kramer of Rosalie, NE, and Mike (Lindsey) Kramer of Lyons, NE; grandchildren, Shauna (John), Luke, Lauren, Logan, Lane, Jesika, Kayci (Brian) Jalyn, Taitum, Landon; great-grandchildren, Kory, Gunnar, Axel, Kimber “Fred”, Brailey, Jayse, Hudson, and Andrea.  He is also survived by a brother, Steve (Mari Lynn) Kramer of Thurston, NE; sister, Kathie (Jeff) Hirst of Sioux City, IA, and many nieces and nephews.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, father and mother-in-law, a sister-in-law, and a brother-in-law.
