Tracy C. Busch

Tracy Carl Busch, 88, of Pender, NE passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center in Pender, NE.  Funeral services will be Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Karen NcNeil-Utecht will be officiating.  The visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Tracy was born on September 9, 1930 in Pender, NE, the son of William and Blanche (Fischer) Busch.  He attended and graduated from Pender High School in 1948.  He then attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where he played football.  On June 17, 1951, he was united in marriage to Genene Weddingfeld in Pender, NE.  To this union two children were born, Gwen and Wade.  He traveled throughout the United States for work, where he updated and automated factories. Tracy and Genene returned to Pender in 1992, where he retired and continued working on the type of equipment he loved for Logan Valley.  On September 17, 2003 Genene passed away.  Tracy was united in marriage to Bonnie (Frese) Appleton on July 30, 2004 in Pender, NE.  They were happily married for 14 years. 

Tracy was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and member and former chairman of the UNL Extra Point Club.  He enjoyed the Nebraska Cornhuskers, hunting and fishing.

Tracy is survived by his wife, Bonnie Busch of Pender, NE; daughter, Gwen (Ron) Melsha of Solon, IA; son, Wade (Gayles) Busch of Mason City, IA; grandchildren, Rachel Busch, Courtney (Chris) Messer, Kolby Melsha; step children, Joye (Steve) Schaffer of Norfolk, NE, Jill (Steve) Austin of Lancaster, PA, Jane (Robert) Curry Chulavista, CA, Jay Appleton of Norfolk, NE, Jona (Kurt) Fleek of Kearney, NE; 7 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; 4 step great-great grandchildren; brother, Ron (Sharon) Busch of Creighton, NE; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tracy is preceded in death by his parents; and first wife Genene.
