Troy was born on October 30, 1942, in Walthill, NE, the son of Marlowe, Sr. “Brown” and Gladys (Beaudette) Tipton.  Following his graduation in 1960 from Walthill High School, he worked with Christiansen Construction in Pender.  On September 22, 1964, Troy, entered into service with the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam.  Following his discharge in 1966, he worked in Minnesota at a Dairy, later in Oklahoma and New York as a cowboy on ranches.  In New York, he met the love of his life, Marie Sorbo.  The couple were married on February 7, 1970.  After the birth of their first son, they moved to Walthill in 1971.  He was once a member of the Walthill Rodeo, Jaycees, and one of the founding members of the Walthill Rodeo.  He worked for the Village of Walthill until his retirement.  Troy was a twenty-plus member of the Walthill Fire Department and was still an honorary member.  He enjoyed playing his guitars, hunting, and fishing.

Troy was a devoted husband and father. Marie was his love and they did everything together, you never saw them apart.  He loved his grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them.  He was the happiest when he was at the river, on the deck, drinking a beer.  He also loved to play his guitar and sing for anyone to hear. He was witty and sarcastic and if you knew Troy, he always had quite the sense of humor especially those blonde jokes. He got along with everyone he met and had a joke to tell.  He was old school and one of a kind.  You won’t find another like him.

Troy is survived by his daughter, Tara (Mark) English of Walthill, NE; son, Gabe (Tami) Tipton of Pender, NE; grandchildren, Amber, Evan, and Adyson English, Hunter, and Isabel Marie Tipton.  He is also survived by his nieces and their families, Robin (Eric) Galvin, and Michelle (Marlon) Hennig.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie; son, Shayne; and brother, Marlowe Tipton, Jr.
