Warren Lee Schultz

Warren Lee Schultz, 73, of Oakland, NE passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.  The visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.  The funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at the Faith United Center and Chapel in Walthill, NE, with Pastor Michael McGregor officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE.  A "social gathering" will follow the graveside at the Faith United Center and Chapel.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.  

Warren was born on December 3, 1949, to Charles L., Sr., and Stella Ilena Mae (Siemsen) Schultz in Tilden, NE.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  He attended and graduated from Wayne High School in 1968 and continued his education by attending Northeast College in Norfolk earning a degree in masonry work.  Shortly after college, Warren married Jean “June Bug” Twyford on May 21, 1977.  Together the couple had 6 children.  Even though the couple divorced, they remained very close to each other until Warren’s passing.

Warren served in the Nebraska National Guard for 6 years.  He enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, golfing, and taking his children and grandchildren fishing.  Warren taught each one of his kids how to drive.  He worked his entire career as a bricklayer and doing masonry work.  He even built their house in North Bend, NE.  Warren liked spending his spare time with his children and grandchildren, he attended as many sporting events as possible. 

Warren is survived by Jean “June Bug”; daughters, Lynn Schultz of Wisner, NE, Rebecca “Becky” (Roger) Clinard of Lincoln, NE, Bonnie Schultz (Jason Johnson) of Wisner, NE, Elizabeth “Beth” (Drew) Offner of Wayne, NE, Melissa (Alex) Young of Lincoln, NE; son, Kenneth Schultz of Fremont, NE; sister, Marcine (Randy) Gorham of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Mark Schultz (Linda Dewy) of Mountain Hope, AR, Dwight (Trudy) Schultz of Wayne, NE, Everett (Julie) Schultz of Carol, NE; 29 grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristin, Delylah, Zaylia, Bentlee, Niklaus, Athena, Dylan, Alysa, Dayton, Matthew, Michael, Jacob, Tyson, Kalliah, Aidan, EmaLee, Devon, Skye, Caleb, Jayden, Harper, Braxtyn, Keagen, Korbyn, Briggen, Jace, Mae, and Charla.

Warren is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Schultz, Jr.; sister, Marilyn Gehner; and great grandson, RayShawn.
