Dr. Lyle B Egerman

Dr. Lyle B. Egerman, 93, of Bancroft, Nebraska, passed away on January 22, 2011 at the Wexford Place Senior Living Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bancroft, Nebraska, with Father Paul Ortmeier officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery in Bancroft. Lyle was born in Shawmut, Montana on September 20, 1917, the son of Jacob and Jean Reid (Berkeley) Egerman. He graduated from Creighton Dental School in Omaha, NE on September 22, 1944. Upon graduation he was commissioned a Lt. (jg) in the U. S. Naval Dental Corps. He married Hazel Walker Leydecker on October 7, 1944. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in April 1944, he set up a dental office in Bancroft, NE, where he spent the next 40 years at his profession, retiring in June of 1986. Hazel passed away on June 18, 2006. Lyle is survived by his sister, Carol Tillman, and nieces and nephews: Jean (Bob) Metzger, Pat (Chris) Bethke, Jim (Kathy) Egerman, Rich Egerman, Patti Tillman, Mike (Pat) Tillman, Susan (Gary) Green, and Jay (Pam) Frazey, and Joan Mace. He is also survived by many-many grand and great nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Hazel, a sister, Vilette, and a brother, Mark.
