Elaine A. Anderson, 75, of Wakefield, Nebraska was called to her heavenly Father on November 5, 2009. Funeral services for Elaine will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield; Pastor Ross Erickson will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday evening at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Elaine was born on April 18, 1934 on a farm near Allen, Nebraska, the daughter to Reynold and Anna (Nelson) Anderson. She attended and graduated from Wakefield High School in Wakefield, Nebraska. Elaine continued her education earning a bachelor’s degree in education from Wayne State College. She taught at various schools over the years including: Alta, Iowa; Storm Lake, Iowa; Cherokee, Iowa and Ponca, Nebraska. She also owned and operated Honey Lane Nursery School in Ponca, Nebraska for 25 years. She retired due to health problems in 1995. Elaine had a love for many things including sports, the cornhuskers and scrabble. She also loved her students, her church family and her Lord. Most of all Elaine loved her daughter Susan and her grandchildren. Elaine is survived by her daughter Susan and her husband Josh Johnson of South Sioux City, Nebraska, three grandchildren Breckin, Rheannon, and Gavin. She is also survived by a brother Wesley Anderson of Wausa, Nebraska; two sisters Dorothy Kellar of Palo Alto, California and Arlene and her husband Ron Bloomquist of Rockford, Illinois, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother Harley LeRoy Anderson.
