Francis "Frank" Wallace Plueger, 80, of Concord, NE passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at UnityPoint Health in Sioux City, IA. The visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield, with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. The burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. Frank was born on April 29, 1943, in Portland, OR, to Wallace and Rose (Noonan) Plueger. Their family moved to Hinton, IA when Frank was 9 months old. At the age of 5, they moved to Allen, NE. He attended Rose Hill Country School until the 8th grade and graduated from Allen High School in 1961. Following graduation, Frank farmed north of Allen, NE until 1964, when he joined the National Army Guard in Wayne, NE. On September 3, 1972, Frank married Kathleen Ruth Patefield at Logan Center Methodist Church. Together the couple had 5 daughters and then moved to Concord, NE in 1986. Frank sold MoorMan’s Feed, worked at the Allen Co-op Elevator, then went to the Dakota City Elevator and retired from Cargill after 20 years in 2009. Frank enjoyed working with kids and their 4-H animals, especially his children showing animals at Aksarben in Omaha and the State Fair. He was a 4-H leader for 20-plus years, a member of the American Angus Association, American Chianina Association, Quarter Horse Association, and served on the Extension Board for several years. Frank enjoyed listening to Country Western music and attending cattle sales with Martey Stewart and Terry Nelson. Frank is survived by his wife, Kathleen Plueger of Concord, NE; daughters, Renee (Rudy) De La Cruz, Sonya (Harvey) Sedahl, Tanya Plueger, Debbie (Bobby) Gregerson, Mindy (Marvin) Wiese; grandchildren, Jose, MaKiaya, and Sebastian De La Cruz, Kiara, Hunter, and Brooke Wiese; great-granddaughter, Enola; step-grandchildren, Bridget (Casey) Woodhouse, Monica De La Cruz; step-great-grandchildren, Harper, Brantley, Emery, Riggin; brothers-in-law, Robert (Dorothy) Patefield, Dan (Judy) Patefield; sister-in-law, Donna Guern; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank is proceeded in death by his mother, Rose (Vern) Swanson; father, Wallace Plueger; grandparents, Louie and Emma Plueger, George and Pearl Noonan; mother and father-in-law, Milo and Arlene Patefield; brother-in-law, Paul Guern; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
