Lisa M. Hankins

Lisa M. Hankins, 61, of Emerson, NE died on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her home near Emerson.  The funeral service for Lisa will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Emerson, NE, Pastor Toni Hightree will be officiating.  The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.  Burial will be at a later date.

Lisa was born on December 14, 1959 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Robert and Carole (Crooks) Lile.  She attended school in Walthill, NE, graduating from Walthill High School in 1978.  Following graduation she moved to the Emerson, Nebraska area.  She worked at M.G. Waldbaums in Wakefield, NE for several years before retiring.  In 1990, Lisa was united in marriage to Alan Hankins.  The couple made their home west of Emerson on their farm.  Lisa enjoyed gardening, collecting cook books, canning and making candy.  She loved her animals and was always there to rescue a stray. 

Lisa is survived by her husband Alan of Emerson, NE; son, Josh (Danielle) Lile of Sioux City, IA; brother, Allen (Rochell) Lile of South Sioux City, NE; sisters, Audrey (Harold) Chase of Sioux City, IA, Carla Lile-Warner of Walthill, NE, Roberta (Bobby) Barclay of Homer, NE; grandson Jonathon Minor of Sioux City, IA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
